Locations

(by Rebecca)

MEDIA ROOM -

We have decided to build a 'bedroom' set in the media classroom. This will require a lot of work, planning and organisation as we want the set to look as realistic as possible. At the moment, the corner of the media room has pink walls (which we will cover with posters / photos and black paper), a wooden floor (which we will cover with a dark coloured rug), a couple of notice boards (which we will either remove or cover) and a black shelf filled with text books and equipment (we will empty this and replace the contents with appropriate props). The advantages to using the media room are that we have easy access to power sockets, lighting, camera equipment and can easily transfer footage to the computer. We will have to make a complete prop list and will need a couple of days to build the set, film in it and then take it down.

PHOTOGRAPHY ROOM (STUDIO) -

We will be filming all of the close-up object and body shots in the photography studio due to the easy use of light coloured backdrops and studio lighting. Once again, we also have easy access to power sockets and equipment. It is also private and quiet, which will put the actors at ease and help us to avoid any interruptions. We will need to arrange a time to film here and check that the room is available within our scheduled times.

EXTERIOR (IN SCHOOL) -

Any additional outside shots (such as shoes walking on a pavement) will be filmed inside school. This means we can continue to use the Panasonic HD Camcorder and ensure all of our footage is consistent in quality. It also means that we don't have to make too many arrangements to transport equipment, which could be costly and cause us safety problems
